ROERO: A PRISTINE BEAUTY

A unique soil, with specific biodiversity, expressed by various micro-climate with heat days and cool nights, result of withdrawal by Padano Sea around 16 millions years ago.

The name originates by the ancient Conti-Roero’s family who ruled the area in the 14th century, whose family arms was a wagon wheel with five spokes.

350 square km of hills located in South Piedmont, at the left side of Tanaro river, along 23 villages, with alternate layers of sandy soil, calcareous marl, blue marl, tufa, sand and sulphur-bearing chalk, perfect for white grapes cultivation, like Arneis, Nebbiolo, Barbera.
